Benjamin Tof and his family

Hanna Woudstra was the daughter of David Woudstra and Judik Leefsma. She got married to Benjamin Tof in Wildervank in 1903. The couple had two cildren: Judik (a famous mezzo-soprano) and another child that took care of her parents, when they reached old age.
During the war the elderly couple got an offer to go into hiding, which they turned down. Based on their old age, they thought they had nothing to fear. Still they were summoned to report at the Groningen train station at the beginning of 1943. They were brought to the Vught concentration camp. There Hanna Tof-Woudstra died soon after arrival. Benjamin Tof got deported to Sobibor.
The second child of the Tof family survived the war by going into hiding.
