Willem de Torres studied medicine in Amsterdam, where he sat for his medical finals on 25 November 1911. He lived and practised medicine as a family doctor at 103 De Clercqstraat in Amsterdam. He also practised medicine at 79 Haarlemmerweg, 73 Kanaalstraat and in the waiting room of the Binnengasthuis. Willem de Torres was married to Margaretha Rodrigues Pereira.
