Bertrand Henri Drilsma had been trained as an economist and teacher. From 1899 to 1906, however, he worked as a cellist in the Concertgebouw orchestra.
In July 1943, Bertrand Henri Drilsma was at the Hollandsche Schouwburg, waiting to be transported to Westerbork. He took his own life there. Bertrand Henri Drilsma was buried in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen.
