About Hendrika de Haas, widow of Aaron Brandon.

Hendrika de Haas, a daughter of Mozes Izaak de Haas and Vroukje van Dam, was born in Wageningen on 30 October 1843 and married on 7 December 1881 in Amsterdam the widower of Mietje Drievoet, Aaron Brandon, who was born on 17 March 1851 in Amsterdam as a son of Jacob Joseph Brandon and Jette Groenewout, but passed away in Amsterdam on 1 February 1925.

Because of her marriage to Aaron Brandon, Hendrika de Haas became stepmother of Jetje Brandon (b. 19 Nov 1873) and Jacob Brandon (b. 28 Jan 1877). Their mother, Mietje Drievoet died in childbirth on 30 January 1877, two days after the birth of her son Jacob. Hendrika de Haas and Aaron Brandon together had another daughter, Flora, who was born on 8 April 1883 in Amsterdam. Hendrika became widowed on 1 February 1925 of her husband Aaron Brandon. He was interred in the Jewish Cemetery at Muiderberg.

Lepelstraat 58 1st floor in Amsterdam was the residence of Hendrika, where in 1924 also Salomon Dingsdag and his wife Esther Rodrigues Parreira came living in. Esther was a daughter of Hendrika’s step-daughter Jetje Brandon, who was married to Abraham de David Rodrigues Parreira. On 2 February 1926 Hendrika de Haas moved to Vrolikstraat 144 2nd floor, where her daughter Flora Brandon lived and who was married to Jacob Fruitman.

On 30 June 1942 Hendrika Brandon-de Haas passed away in the Vrolikstraat 144 in Amsterdam, over 98 years old. She too was interred in the Jewish Cemetery at Muiderberg.
