From a Police report of 10 April 1942 of the Police station Stadhouderskade in Amsterdam.

Today, at 3.30 pm, a small fire has taken place in a room located above the shop house of premises 2e Jan Steenstraat 93 here, where a factory is located for the manufacture of artificial leather goods. Owners the company under NV named Willem Vos, born in Amsterdam on 21 January 1917, manufacturer and Hartog Vos, born in Amsterdam on 30 May 1914, manufacturer, both living Tugelaweg 129 II here. Cause: Hartog Vos wanted to light the stove. He lit a match, the burning head probably broke off and ended up in waste materials near the stove that lay on the floor there and caught fire. The fire brigade extinguished with a few buckets of water. The damage to materials and tools cannot be given yet. Some items of clothing belonging to the Vos brothers and the staff have also been partially burned. Owner is insured for 4000 guilders on a stock exchange policy at M. Polak, Alexander Boersstraat 113 1st floor here. The supervisor of the premises is called Joghems, living at Lekstraat 96. The premises consists of five floors and is built of stone. Owner of the premises is M.E. Poster-Scherff, residing at Singel 80 in Bussum.
