Max and Martha were deported from Drancy with convoy 57 on 18 Jyuly 1943. Arrival of the tran in Auschwitz-Birkenau was on 20 July.
There were 1000 men, women and children on the train. After selection, 369 men and 191 women were selected. The men were given prisoner numbers 130466 till 130834 and the women the no's 50204 till 50394. Deportees with a prisoner number were provisionally housed in barracks. The remaining 440 people were immediately killed.
As far as could be checked in the "Sterbebücher"(death books) of Auschwitz, Max and Martha had no prisoner number.
The death certificates made out by the Municipality of Amsterdam after the war state that Max and Martha have died between 18 July1943 and 27 January 1945.
Since Max and Martha did not receive a prisoner number, we may assume that they were killed immediately upon arrival there.
