Jewish Council

Op bevel van de Duitse bezetter opgezette joodse organisatie die de joodse gemeenschap moest besturen.

The Jewish Council was formed on 12 February 1941 as the Jewish Council for Amsterdam but quickly had its authority extended throughout the Netherlands. The Nazis used the Jewish Council to convey their commands to the Jewish community and its leaders. The Jewish Council thus became the conduit for the anti-Jewish measures.
