Rosette Lopes Cardozo was taken as step-granddaughter into the family of Jacob Pachter, the 2nd spouse of her grandmother Rosette Barend, who was already divorced in 1907 from her grandfather Abraham Lopes Cardozo and has been remarried in 1911 to Jacob Pachter. Also her father Mozes Lopes Cardozo came living in with his mother, where also his sister Elisabeth still lived in her parental home. However a few months later, in October 1927 she got married to Levie Schrijver and went with him living at their own address.

Levie Brilleman’s wife Leentje Kopee died already a few months earlier in Amsterdam, on 14 May 1942 and she was interred in de Jewish Cemetery in Diemen.

Johan Lopes Cardozo was adopted as stepson in the family of Aäron Gobets, who had remarried  his mother Theresia Gotlieb on 1 October 1920. They had two more daughters: in 1933 Sara was born and in 1935 Anna. The family then lived at Korte Houtstraat 38 3rd floor in Amsterdam.

On 18 May 1942 Johan and his stepfather Aäron Gobets were taken to Westerbork and that same day put on transport to Sobibor. On arrival there on 21 May 1943 they were both immediately killed.
