Addition

This is a page from the police book of the arrest of Nantje de Jong (my grandmother) and Henriette Bremer Croonenberg. My father told me the story that my grandmother lived in Hillegom during the war with her 5 children and she hid Henrietta in her house because of the Nazi occupation. My father says the police arrived one day and arrested both of them and took them away. My grandmother was suffering from breast cancer, my grandfather was in America and couldn't go back during the occupation. My father said that they threatened to send my grandmother to Auschwitz with Henrietta but because she was dying, they released her. Unfortunately, Henrietta was sent to Auschwitz and killed 2 weeks after the arrest.

I never knew my grandmother who died in 1946 (12 years before I was born), 3 months after my grandfather returned home from America. My grandfather died 2 months after my grandmother. This is part of Henrietta's story that maybe the family did not know.
