Biography

The fate of Eva and Flora Vrieslander.

Eva en Flora Vrieslander ware the two middle daughters of Retje Leon Beek and the in 1932 deceased Philip Lazarus Vrieslander. Eva was born in 1883 and Flora in 1884. The lived in Den Helder in their parental home until they had to move in June 1942 to Amsterdam, where they ended up at Plantage Kerklaan 23b. Both the girls were unmarried.

The two Vriesland sisters had two other siblings: the eldest, Esther, probably also unmarried, was already deceased in Den Helder in 1924. They youngest, Jansje, was already married to Mozes Wolf from Oss and lived no longer home.

Eva and Flora Vrieslander were both taken from Amsterdam to Westerbork on 3 September 1942 and already the next day, on 4 September put on transport to Auschwitz. On arrival there on 7 September 1942, both were immediately killed in the gas chambers, Eva then was 58 years of age and Flora 57 years old.
