His 16-yearf old son Harry had completed his 3-year HBS education and had a job at the staff department of Jewish Council on Nieuwe Keizersgracht 58 which also exempted him from deportation for the time being.

Also Marcus’ wife Sophia Hartog got a “Sperre” because of function of her husband, but during the big raid in Amsterdam at the end of May 1943 , where the Germans required that 7000 Jews of the staff of the Jewish Council “had to leave”, they all were taken to Westerbork that 25 May where they ended up in barrack 62. On 1 June they were put on transport to Sobibor and on arrival there on 4 June 1943, Marcus Ossedrijver, his wife Sophia Hartog and son Harry were immediately killed.
