Biography

About Rebecca Mok.

Rebecca Mok was the fourth child of Isaak Aron Mok and Jeannette Natkiel. She was born 5 August 1874 into a family of eight children in total. Her siblings were Roosje (1869), Hendrika (1872), Anna (1876), Elisabeth (1878), Joseph (1880), Aäron en Sara (1886). Her brother Joseph died already in 1923 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen. She herself and all her siblings  were killed in the Shoah.

From the family registration card of the City Archive of Amsterdam could be read that Rebecca Mok has worked as maid, shoplady and cleaning lady. She remained unmarried and lived at Oude Schans, at Rapenburg, at Nieuwe Herengracht and after another dozen relocations she ended up in Weesperstraat 67 2nd floor, which also appeared to become her last known address.

On 14 January 1943 Rebecca Mok was brought to Westerbork and on 23 January deported to Auschwitz. On arrival there on 26 January 1943 she has been immediately killed.
