About Jacob Cohen.

Jacob Cohen, born 26 January 1860 in Arnhem, was a son of Salomon Cohen and Hester Cohen. He married 11 April 1894 in Arnhem Rebecka Schlüter, born 3 December 1860 in Düsseldorf as daughter of Heimann Schlüter and Sofie Ert. The couple had two children, namely Hester in 1895 and Wilhelmina in 1896.

Jacob Cohen’s spouse, Rebecka Schlüter had a sister, who was known in Holland as Wilhelmina Sluiter. She was married to Jesaia van West, who was married a 2nd time to Jeannette Elekan, who was killed 28 May 1943 in Sobibor. Jesaia van West passed away before the war in 1936.

The Cohen family moved from Arnhem to Apeldoorn, where Jacob passed away 15 August 1941. Of his wife Rebecka Schlüter (also known as Sluiter) as well both the daughters, nothing is known further of them.
