Biography

About Hanna Boeki, Izak van Been and their children Abraham, Leentje and Sylvia.

Hanna Boeki, born 11 October 1916 as daughter of Jacob Boeki and Leentje Berkelouw, has left her parental home already 23 September 1936 to be married with Izak van Been, a son of Abraham van Been and Sientje Bacharach.

Izak was previously married to Esther Swaluw, with whom he had a son Abraham, born 7 March 1932. The marriage of Izak and Esther however ended in a divorce 13 June 1936 but Abraham stayed with his father and his 2nd wife Hanna Boeki.

After they were wed, Hanna Boeki and Izak van Been have lived at various addresses in the city of Rotterdam but their last known address – as registered with by the Jewish Council – was Nolensstraat 85a in Rotterdam. Hanna and Izak had two daughters together, Leentje in 1937 and Sylvia in 1942.

The Izak van Been family was deported to Westerbork 10 April 1943 and had to stay in barrack 72. They all were all put on transport to Sobibor 20 April and on arrival there 23 April 1943 immediately killed.
