Biography

About Hartog Jacobs, Keetje Leidensdorff and their daughters Sara en Elisabeth.

Hartog Jacobs, a son of Levij Jacobs and Betje Vos, married 19 April 1906 in Amsterdam Keetje Leidensdorff, a daughter of Meijer Leidensdorff and his first wife Saartje Jacobs. The couple had two daughters, namely Sara in 1906 and Elisabeth in 1908 and they lived at Thérèse Schwarzeplein 19 II in Amsterdam.

Their daughter Elisabeth was already married 17 April 1935 in Amsterdam to Aron (Ronnie) Ossendrijver, born 1907, GP and son of Saul Ossendrijver and Clara Rodrigues Pereira. The Ossendrijver family lived at the same address as the Jacobs family only at the 1st floor. Aron and Elisabeth have survived the Holocaust by going into hiding. They settled in 1945 in Utrecht, Koekoekstraat 20 with their GP-practice. They had two daughers, Carla in 1936 and Elisabeth in 1940.

Hartog Jacobs was deported to Westerbork 25 September 1942 and put on transport to Auschwitz 28 September. On arrival there 1 Ocober 1942 Jacob was immediately killed.

Keetje Leidensdorff and her daughter Sara were only locked in at Westerbork 25 February 1943 in barack 61. They were deported with the first transport from Westerbork to Sobibor on 2 march 1943, with another 1103 deportees. On arrival there Keetje and Sara have been immediately killed.
