About Fijtje Blitz and Samuel Overste.

Fijtje Blitz was a daughter of Jonas Blitz and Marianna Loeza. She married Elias Spreekmeester in Amsterdam 23 September 1926, a son of Levie Elias Spreekmeester and Eva Veltijn. Fijtje as well Elias returned in August 1926 from Brooklyn (NY) USA to Amsterdam. Records of the City Archive of Amsterdam show that the wedding of Fijtje Blitz and Elias Spreekmeester was solemnized indeed 23 September 1926 in Amsterdam, after their return from Brooklyn. Five years later, Elias Spreekmeester passed away 14 December 1931 in Amsterdam and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen.

Fijtje Blitz married again 23 September 1936 to Samuel Overste, a son of Simon Overste and Elisabeth Simons. Samuel was married before twice: to Saartje Kroonenburg, who died in 1914 and 25 August 1915 he married again his cousin first degree Esther Overste, a daughter of Joseph Overste and Sara Finsij. However, also Esther Overste passed away 10 April 1935 and she too was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen.

Since 27 December 1935, Fijtje Blitz lived at Blasiusstraat 13 1st stock in Amsterdam. Samuel Overste was registered at that same address, that same date, from where they married 23 September 1936. Before, Samuel lived at Roeterstraat 10 1st floor.

8 August 1941, Fijtje Blitz moved to St. Antoniesbreestraat 100 down floor; perhaps her marriage had been failed already because she moved but Samuel Overste remained living there at Blasiusstraat, from where he moved 1 September 1941 to Weesperstraat 38 2nd floor. The marriage of Fijtje Blitz and Samuel Overste eventually ended 19 September 1941 by divorce.

Samuel Overste was registered in Westerbork 6 September 1942, togheter with his ex-wife Fijtje Blitz. Both their common known address was registered as Weesperstraat 38 2nd floor in Amsterdam. Already one day later, 7 September, both were deported to Auschwitz and upon arrival there 10 September 1942 immediately killed.
