About Rachel Dreese.

Rachel Dreese was a daughter of Hartog Dreese and Flora Koster. (Flora Koster died in Amsterdam 7 June 1914 as widow of Hartog Dreese). 17 March 1909 Rachel married  Leendert de Vries in Amsterdam, a son of Abraham de Vries and Sara Park. In August 1910 their son Hartog was born, who however was deported in 1943 from Het Apeldoornse Bos to Auschwitz where he was killed.

After their marriage, Rachel and Leendert lived at various addresses in Amsterdam; since 12 April 1933 their residence was Ruyschstraat 111, where Leendert de Vries passed away 12 November 1934. He was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen.

Rachel Dreese moved after the passing of her husband  to Roeterstraat 3a, moved again several times before she married 23 June 1937 the widower since 1934 of Sientje Grootkerk, Benedictus Nebig, a son of Hartog Moses Nebig and Naatje Hamburg. Rachel then moved to Blasiusstraat 133 II, the residence of her husband.

6 October 1942 also Rachel’s spouse Benedictus Nebig passed away and in March 1943 Rachel Dreese was deported to Camp Westerbork. 20 March she was registered there and stayed in barack 69 till 23 March when she has been put on transport to Sobibor. Upon arrival there 26 March 1943 she was immediately killed.
