Hans , his brother Gerhard and his parents Max and Sophie and his uncle Fritz and wife Cecile all fled to Amsterdam in 1939.

Uncle Fritz Born 14.12.1895 in Herleshausen and his wife Cecile ? Born c 1900 managed to emigrate to the USA by 1940.

Hans and his  parents and his brother Gerhard were deported to a series of concentration camps, Hans died in Auschwitz but his parents and brother survived KZ Auschwitz. In 1945 they settled in Paris where Gerhard became Gérard and the three emigrated to the USA on 24.August 1946. Their last residence in France was Nogent.
