About Meijer de Jong and his family

Meijer de Jong was a son of Abraham de Jong and Sophia Meiler. On 15 January 1936 he married Czypa Starkman from Cieszanow in Poland, a daughter of Leibisch David Starkman and Lea Müller. The couple had two children, who also were killed in the Shoah.

Meijer de Jong was registered on 22 November 1942 in Camp Westerbork and stayed in barack 62. On 9 February 1943 he was deported “Eastwards”, presumably to Auschwitz. On 31 March 1944 he has lost his life, probably somewhere in East of Mid Europe but an exact location is not known.

According the registraton cards  from te Jewish Council, his wife Czypa and both his children have been deported already on 6 November 1942 to Auschwitz and upon arrival there on 9 November 1942 immediately killed.
