About Eva van der Maas

Eva van der Maas was a daughter of Michiel van der Maas and Louisa Andriesse. She married Louis Leons on 30 Mei 1923 in Rotterdam, a son of Meijer Leons and Sara Boekbinder. The couple had two children, namely Sara and Michiel. Both have been killed in the Shoah, just as their parents.

Eva Leons-van der Maas, her husband Louis and son Michiel have been registered in Camp Westerbork between 3 and 5 October 1942 and deported to Auschwitz on 16 October, where they have been killed immediately upon arrival there on 19 October 1942. Eva's daughter Sara however, unmarried and seamstress by trade, was already sent to Camp Westerbork on 31 July 1942 and deported to Auschwitz on 3 August. There Sara's life was eventually taken on 30 September 1942.

Eva van der Maas was born into a family with in total five children; two siblings died in childhood, just a few months old and one sister died at age 45 in 1936. She self and her sister Rosetta have been killed in the Shoah.
