About Salomon Voorzanger

Salomon Voorzanger from Amsterdam was a son of Joseph Voorzanger and Heintje Springer. He married the non-Jewish Eliazabeth Maria Catharina Prins in Rotterdam on 16 Mai 1923, a daughter of Gerardus Prins and Adriana Catharina Guttig. One month after their wedding, on 8 June 1923 Salomon and Elizabeth left Rotterdam and moved to Antwerp, where they resided among others at Cobdenstraat 19. The couple had two children, Jozeph who was born in 1924 in Antwerp and Frits, who was born in 1930 in Den Haag. They both have survide the war and emigrated to the USA.

Salomon’s non-Jewish spouse Elisabeth M.C. Prins (R.C.) died 19 April 1935 in Westmalle, Province of Antwerpen. He remarried on 11 August 1936 in Berchem (Antwerp) to Rosette Brandel, a daughter of Joseph Brandel and Rijntje Stad. She was previously (1924) married in Rotterdam to Levie de Groot but this marriage ended in a divorce in 1934. From that marriage no children are known, nor from the marriage of Salomon and Rosette. 

Salomon Voorzanger has been deported from Mechelen to Auschwitz with Convoy XVI on 31 October 1942 which has arrived in Auschwitz on 3 November 1942. Presumably Salomon Voorzanger has been killed upon arrival there but in the archives of Berchem, no specific date of death could be registered, other than "a date between 31 October 1942 and 1 June 1945" according the registers of death of 19 January 1950 for Salomon Voorzanger.
