About Elsa Bartels

Elsa Bartels was a daughter of Alexander Bartels and Margaretha van der Glas. Her parents were married in Zaandam in 1912 but divorced in 1930.  Elsa has been sent to Camp Westerbork on 11 May 1943, toghether with her mother and stayed in barack 62. One week later, on 18 May were she and her mother were deported to Sobibor and killed immediately upon arrival there on 21 May 1943. Elsa's 5-year elder sister Anna was killed there too, however, three weeks later.
