About Henri Philips van Buren

Henri Philips van Buren was a son of Mozes Philips van Buren and his 2nd wife Cornelia Polak. Henri married Sara de Jong in Amsterdam on 30 June 1934, a daughter of Marcus Salomon de Jong and Rachel Koen. On 4 December 1937 their son Martin was born. He has been killed in Sobibor on 11 June 1943, together with his mother Sara de Jong. Henri Philips van Buren has been deported on 16 July 1942 from transit camp Westerbork to Auschwitz and according notes on his record of the file cabinet of the Jewish Council of Amsterdam "he has died in Auschwitz, according list R643 page.8 on 11/12 August 1942". 

Henri Philips van Buren had two half-brothers, both sons of Mozes Philips van Buren and his 1st wife Elisabeth Spiro, who has died in 1903. His brother Frederik Philips van Buren has been killed in Auschwitz on 7 December 1942 but his brother Max has survived the Shoah.
