About Auguste Levy

Auguste Levy was a daughter of Rosalie Schäfer from Roes near Cochem (Germany) and Adolf Levy from Frankfurt am Main. Her parents were married in Frankfurt in November 1914 but divorced there on 16 November 1922. Auguste lived since 1936 together with her mother at various addresses in Amstedam; her latest address was Utrechtsestraat 36 1st stock. She was a seamstress and worked as a machine stitcher in the Amsterdam garment industry. On 11 February 1942 she married Mozes Kokernoot in Amsterdam, a son of Joseph Kokernoot and Saartje Wijnschenk. Five months later, on 24 July 1942 Auguste and her husband were deported from transit camp Westerbork to Auschwitz, where they eventually have been killed on 30 September 1942.
