Sara Kool was a daughter of Simon Kool and Johanna van Vliet. She married Salomon Arpels in Amsterdam on 10 June 1903, a son of Nathan Arpels and Vrouwtje Aap. Sara and Salomon had two daughters, Jeannette and Flora, who lived with their families elsewhere in Amsterdam. From these families, one son-in-law and one grandson have survived the Holocaust. The others have been killed in the Shoah. Also Sara Kool and her husband Salomon Arples lost their lives in the Shoah: on 10 September 1942 they have been killed in Auschwitz.
