Lea Theeboom was a daughter of Philip Theeboom and Catharina Voorzanger. She married Meijer Lipschits in Amsterdam on 4 September 1929, a son of Mozes Lipschits and jetje Vleeschhouwer. Lea and Mozes moved to Zutphen, where their six children were born: Jetje, Catharina, Mozes, Anna, Eva and Philip, who all have been killed on 27 November 1942 in Auschwitz, together with their mother. Lea’s husband Meijer was already killed on 3 August 1942, also in Auschwitz.
Lea self was born into a family with eight children, of whom two of her sisters have survived the Holocaust. However, her sisters Anna, Debora and Rachel, as well her brothers Izaak and Aron, have been killed during the Shoah.
