Biography

About Abraham van Boele.

Abraham van Boele was a son of Ruben Levij van Boele and Eva Jezajas. He married Batseba Farro in Amsterdam 12 November 1879, a daughter of Samuel Farro and Rachel Alexander de Vries. Batseba Farro however passed away there on 13 December 1913.

Between 1880 and 1895 the couple had eight children, namely Eva in 1880, Samuel in 1881, Ruben in 1882, David in 1884, Marcus in 1886, again a Samuel in 1889, Rachel in 1891 and Aaltje in 1895.

Eva van Boele passed away 18 February 1940 as widow of Manus Bloemendaal in the Israëlitic Psychiatric Hospital “Het Apeldoornsche Bosch”. Samuel van Boele, born in 1881, died in Zwolle 11 April 1885, only 3 years old. Samuel van Boele, born in 1889, died in the Wilhelmina Gasthuis (hospital) in Amsterdam in 1933, unmarried at the age of 44. Rachel van Boele died unmarried at the age of 22 in Amsterdam on 12 July 1913. The other children, Ruben, David and Marcus were killed during the Holocaust.

Since 1895, Abraham van Boele and his wife lived in Amsterdam at various addresses. Per 17 July 1925, he moved as a widower to the address Hertzogstraat 1 3rd floor and on 29 October 1940 he moved to Pension Dingsdag at Hoogeweg 15 hs in Amsterdam-East. There he passed away on 24 December 1940.
