About Jacob de Vries

Jacob de Vries was deported via Westerbork to Bergen-Belsen in the autumn of 1944. He witnessed the liberation of the camp and returned to his hometown of Leeuwarden, where he was committed to hospital. He died on September 1st, 1945, due to the effects of his stay in the camps. Jacob de Vries was buried in the Jewish cemetery of Leeuwarden, next to the memorial stone commemorating his parents, brother and sister.
