Martijn de Marcas was a son of David de Marcas and Betje van Dam.
He married Estelle Reine Vos in 1884 in Rotterdam.

In June 1941, an obituary was placed in Het Joodsche Weekblad for Martijn de Marcas. He was a Knight in the Order of Leopold II of Belgium. From Amsterdam, he was buried in the Putte cemetery. This was the Jewish cemetery at the Belgian border, where the Jews from Antwerp buried their dead.
