Philip de Groot was a son of Isaac de Groot and Anaatje Wurms.
After her husband died, Philip de Groot had an affair with Mina Bloemendaal-Cohen. Together they went to the German autorities. Philip de Groot and Mina Cohen wanted to get married in camp Westerbork to decrease the chances of being deported.
