Jozef Günsberg was the widower of Berta Zwecher. His children Fanny Susanne and Lothar resided at the Jewish orphanage of Leiden.

Josef Gunsberg had a third son, Gerold, born in 1924 in Germany. All three children were sent to a children home in Cologne. In 1939 Gerold went to New York to live with his aunt Renchie. After World War II he found out about the fate of his family. He had two sons Charles and Larry Guensberg. He worked for military ineligible and CIA.
