Jacques Louis Gompertz (also spelled Gomperts) studied medicine in Amsterdam. He sat for his medical finals in 1921 and lived and practised at 121-122 Amsteldijk in Amsterdam. In addition to practising medicine, Jacques Louis Gompertz served on the board of the Centraal Israëlitisch Krankzinnigengesticht (central Jewish mental asylum). Jacques Louis Gompertz was married to Sara Lina van Beem.
