Jacob Coppenhagen was a son of Andries Coppenhagen and Duifje Johanna Polak. He married 14 August 1930 in Amsterdam to Sophia de Vries, a daughter of Josua Samuel de Vries and Fokje Vaz Dias.
Jacob had two other brothers: one has survived the war. The other brother, David has been killed too during the Holocaust.
