Machiel Dresden was a son fo Isaak Dresden and Sara Zak. Machiel Dresden was married in 1906 to Elisabeth Ensel. The couple had two children. In 1917 Elisabeth Ensel died.
During the war, Machiel Dresden lived with one of his children and their family. This family, including two young grandchildren all survived the war. His other child Izaak Dresden didn't survive the war.
