Salomon Bosboom was a son of Andries Bosboom and Reina van de Kar. He married 14 January 1904 in Amsterdam to Betje Melkman, a daughter of Abraham Benjamin Melkman and Sara van de Kar.
Salomon was born in a family with nine children, of whom six children did not survive the Holocaust: he self, Marianne, Anna, Hartog, Eliazer en Grietje, did not survive the Holocaust.
