Gabriël Tas was the sixth of the eight children of Isaac Tas and Betje Swart. He married Rebecca Troeder, daughter of Juda Troeder and Geertje Schavrien, in Amsterdam on 24 April 1929. The couple had three children: Elisabeth, Juda and Sientje.
Copies remain of the marriage certificate of Gabriël Tas and Rebecca Troeder, of their ketubah and of the birth certificates of the children Elisabeth, Juda and Sientje.
