Leendert de Boer was a son of Hartog de Boer and Lea van Sisteren. He married on 12 June 1907 in Amsterdam to Elisabeth Cracau, daughter of Victor Abraham Cracau and Sientje Stern. The couple had three children: Hartog, who survived the Holocaust, Sientje and Lena.
On 12 February 1921 Leendert was divorced from Elisabeth Cracau and he married again on 4 May 1921 to Hanna Cohen.
