Hartog Pijpeman was a son of Philip Pijpeman and Klaartje Schreeuwer. He married Clara Elisabeth Frenk in Rotterdam on 27 January 1915, a daughter of Benjamin Frenk and Lena Spaanbroek.
Hartog and Clara had two sons: Philip Benjamin and Benjamin Philip.
On 28 June 1928, Hartog and Clara have been divorced in Rotterdam and the 6th of July 1935, Hartog remarried Isabella Stokvis from Antwerp in Berchem (Belgium). Toghether they had two children: Jeannine Gabrielle Astrid and George Carlo.
