Grietje van de Kar was a daughter of David van de Kar and Heintje Schraal, who both have passed away already before the war. Grietje married 14 June 1911 in Amsterdam to Hartog Frank, a son of Levie Frank and Mietje van de Kar.
Grietje was born in a family with eleven children, of whom two have died before the war. However her siblings Marianne, Salomon, Clara, Gompert, Coenraad, Sara, Philip and Levie have been killed all during the Holocaust.
