Regina worked as a saleswoman at the Bijenkorf. There she befriended Johanna van Nigtere. For Regina this friendship was completely platonic, but Johanna fell in love and wrote her love letters. Soon after, Regina broke off their friendship. Johanna van Nigteren vanished mysteriously in November 1939. A police investigation was set in motion. No trace of Johanna has ever been found. The records of the survey are now in the Amsterdam Municipal Archives. There are also some letters written by Regina Roodveldt.
