Clara Engelsman was a daughter of Barend Engelsman and Esther Victors. She married 5 January 1927 in Amsterdam Philip Wittenburg, a son of Salomon Wittenburg and Rachel Beesmer.
Clara self had three sisters and two brothers: Sara, Keetje, Elisabeth, Samuel and Jacob. They too have been killed during the Shoah.
