Karel de Jong was a son of Abraham de Jong and Maaike Cohen. He married 16 December 1931 in Amsterdam to Rachel Barend, a daughter of Emanuel Barend and Sara Kops.
His siblings, who did not survive the Holocaust too were Hartog, Marianne, Benjamin, Jacob, Anna, Wolf, Rosa and Esther. Two brothers have survived the war.
