Schoontje Mouwes was a daughter of David Mouwes and his first wife Betje van Praag, to whom he was married in Amsterdam in 1887 but who passed away there in 1912. Schoontje married in Zaandam on 28 July 1915 to Jesaia van Buren, son of Abraham van Buren and Marianna van der Sluis.
