Abraham van Cleef was a son of Simon van Cleef and Judith Polak. He married in Amsterdam on 16 August 1922 to Anna Halberstadt, a daughter of Victor Halberstadt and Roosje Ark.
His siblings, who have been killed also during the Holocaust were Abraham, Mozes, Doortje, Rebecca and Joseph.
