In 1921 the association Ons Belang, dedicated to protecting the interests of retailers in rags and related items, was established in Assen. At the time of establishment, Simon Abraham van Oosten served on the five-person board of the association.
Simon Abraham van Oosten was sent to the Jewish labour camp at Rouveen.
