Samuel Mainzer was married to Johanna de Bruin. The couple had three daughters, who resided on other addresses during the war. Cato Carolina Mainzer, the couples eldest daughter, didn't survive the war. Her mother, Johanna de Bruin had died in the late twenties.

In May 1940 Samuel Mainzer lived at Raam 56 in Delft. Presumably he had moved after the bombardment of Rotterdam.
