Joseph Jacob Levi was a son of Eduard Joseph Levi and Hesje de Jong. He married in Den Haag on 17 October 1906 to Klaartje Croiset, daughter of Salomon Croiset and Saartje de Jong. The couple had two children: Saartje Hesje and Eduard Joseph who passed away only 3 months old in 1917.
