Jette Schenk was a daughter of Joseph Levi Schenk and Aaltje Rubens, a family of four children, of whom one son died as baby only one month old. The other siblings of Jette were Maurits and Levie.
After the death of Joseph Levi Schenk in 1876, Aaltje Rubens remarried in 1878 to Hendrik Sternfeld, with whom she had again six children, but the first born child died only a few moths old. The other children Sternfeld, Jette's halfbrothers and halfsisters were Benjamin, Sientje, who passed away in 1938, Eva, Betje and Jozeph, who died already in 1906.
Jette Schenk was unmarried.
