Marcus de Groot was a son of Mozes de Groot and Sientje Nieweg. In that family there were four other children: Hij kwam uit een gezin met nog vier andere kinderen: Samuel, Louis, Jozef en Estella. Marcus married, probably ± 1933 to Else Eisemann and they had two children: Martin and Erich Jozef.
