Jacob Philips was a son of Louis Philips and Billa (Bertha) Baer.

On 8 October 1941 Jacob Philips, who was seriously ill, was lifted from his bed by agents of the Sicherheitsdienst. Together with his brothers and two other Jews from Hengelo he was brought to Arnhem. A short time later they died in Mauthausen.
